Born into a family of independent retail grocers in northeastern Oklahoma, Blake Bowersock grew up surrounded by produce, canned goods, a meat market, refrigerated and frozen foods, and customers looking for quality and value. In a world without barcodes and scanners, he was running a cash register by the time he was eight.

Blake's rich consulting career began in 2003 working for Accenture based in Dallas. After eight years of weekly, cross-country travel and Texas heat, he relocated to Chicago to help shape EY's (Ernst & Young's) re-emerging advisory practice. After five more years of 100% travel, including to the Middle East, he launched his own independent consultancy in 2016, putting roots down in Charlotte, NC.

It was from this turning point in Charlotte that Blake seized an opportunity to contract with Lowe's Companies HR department for nearly three years and then the renowned Kates Kesler Organization Consulting, now part of Accenture, where he grew his craft of and passion for organization design.

The Wishbone Story

A religious follower of Oklahoma Sooners Football Blake's entire life, the "wishbone" was an offensive attack scheme used by Sooners coach legend Barry Switzer and was considered to be the most productive and innovative offensive scheme in college football during the 1970s and 1980s.

Every snap provided the quarterback with three options to move the ball (run, handoff, or pass) while accounting for every defender on the field. The alignment of the key players on offense created an inverted "Y" or wishbone shape.

To Blake, "wishbone" represents, strategy, evaluating options, taking action, and rewarding with success. Boomer Sooner!
